[edit] What is a Wiki?

A Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and crosslinks between internal pages on the fly.

If you have a webbrowser, you can make edits. It's that simple! Upload pictures, make links, complex tables, bold, italic, stats, lists and outlines, all are made easy and open to anyone with a wiki.

[edit] TL;DR

A prime way to piss off everyone you know in record fucking time using little effort. Minus the setup and proofreading time. Roadhouse.

[edit] Getting Started

Getting started with RageWiki is easy, I think lies. Create a user account first; you cannot edit or create pages without a user account (Technically you can, but we'd rather you make an account). It's up top in red. Maybe it isn't. I'm too lazy to back out and look. Once you've got your account set up, your login name will appear at the top of your browser window. Congratulations, you're well on your way to creating and/or fucking up people's hard work! Before we take a dive into the realm of "seriously, what the fuck is this shit," why don't you just take a look around? Try clicking on the menu options to the left such as Main Page and Random Page.

[edit] Creating a New Article

Simply search for the article in the search box at left. If it exists, you can edit the existing article, if it doesn't, a link will appear that says "create an article with this title," click that and you'll be dropped into an editing box. Save your changes and your article appears.

[edit] Making Edits

So you want to jew up someone's shit create an article? Well, let's begin. Before you create your own pages, you should know how to edit existing pages. Let's start there. Hit the "Random Page" option on the menu to the left until you find an article you'd like to edit. Once you've found one, click the tab labeled "edit" at the top of the article.

Now you will see that you've been dropped into a large text editing box with raw text in it. Wikis are simple to use and this is where you edit the article in question. Make any simple language changes you'd like and then we can talk about making links, adding categories and formatting.

A treasure trove of information can be found at the Wikipedia Article on "How to edit a page"

[edit] Making a Whole New Article

THIS IS IMPORTANT AS FUCK!!!111one

On the left in the search box, type the relevant phrase you want to create. This will be the name of the page/article you will be creating; editing if it already exists. That's the gist!

Say you want to write an article about why is SG a jewbomb. If the article in question is highlighted in red, it is up for grabs. If it is highlighted in White, it's up for an edit, if you so choose.

[edit] Wiki-specific Markup

Text formatting at Wikipedia is, by far, the most complete set of editing instructions ever. If it's too complicated for us to grasp, we'll make a simplified version in the future.

  • Note: RageWiki also accepts most standard html and css if you know it.
